The structure was meant to be a forever home for himself and his wife. When the house was later transformed into a restaurant, great care was taken to preserve its history. Visitors can see many remnants of the house, one of which is the original stone chimney that sits in the center of the dining room. As for food, there are plenty of great entree options. It honors Davy Crockett, a beloved Tennessee figure who was a frontiersman and soldier. He fought in the Mexican-American War alongside 2,000 other volunteers from Tennessee. Besides having a rich historical background, Alamo Steakhouse is known for its delicious food. Start out with an appetizer of Flame Grilled Oysters, Shrimp Cocktail, or Hot Crab Dip.
